The STRATIN+ project convened its Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) to present partner activities and discuss the key priorities that will shape the project’s analytical focus. These priorities include R&I financing, stakeholder engagement, thematic choices, and the role of networks and science diplomacy.
The project held a meeting of the SAB, a body that safeguards the project’s expert integrity. The SAB comprises specialists in R&I policy, evaluation, foresight, and related fields. The SAB’s role is to provide methodological guidance, ensure the use of internationally comparable and evidence-based approaches, and uphold the independence and professional quality of STRATIN’s analytical outputs.

The meeting began with presentations from all four project partners, who provided an overview of their ongoing activities and contributions. This was followed by a focused discussion on several strategic topics, including the sustainability of R&I financing, stakeholders who will use and shape the project’s outputs, the selection of themes for upcoming analyses and the importance of professional networks and science diplomacy for strengthening the national R&I ecosystem.
Contributing their expertise were SAB members Viktoria Bodnarova (Regional Representative for EURAXESS Latin America & Caribbean, Colombia), Michael Keenan (OECD, Directorate for Science, Technology and Innovation, France) and Miroslav Štefánik (Slovak Academy of Sciences, Slovakia). We would also like to thank the steering committee members, Lukáš Palko (Masaryk University) and Tomáš Polívka (1st Vice-Chair of the Council for Research, Development and Innovation), for their valuable feedback and suggestions.
Their insights will help guide STRATIN+ in delivering relevant, high-quality analyses that support evidence-based decision-making in Czech research and innovation policy.
